The Lebanon VA Medical Center is located in Pennsylvania Dutch country and is one of 9 medical centers in the region. Lebanon's main campus is located in South Lebanon Township, 3 miles outside of Lebanon and approximately 30 miles east of Harrisburg, the state capital, and 30 minutes from the city of Hershey, Reading, Lancaster, and York. Six community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) are located in Camp Hill, York, Reading, Lancaster, Pottsville, and Frackville, PA, of which this position calls for visitation of all CBOC locations. Care is available to over 174,000 Veterans from the nine growing counties in South Central Pennsylvania.

Urologist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

• The Lebanon VA Medical Center recently hired a female gynecologist who is referring many female patients to the Urology specialty for various conditions. Some have suffered from Military Sexual Trauma, and it's been relayed by patients as well as their treating physicians that these Veterans benefit from, and are much more comfortable seeing a female provider for their unique needs.
• The Urologist conducts thorough evaluations and assessments of patients with urological symptoms and conditions.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and imaging to diagnose urological disorders with the ability to perform complex urodynamics with specialized equipment.
• Will have the ability to treat urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse surgically with specific training in the utilization of mesh involved in this type of surgery.
• Will perform surgical procedures such as: Sling placement, Periurethral bulking agents, sacroculpopexy-robotics, Burch-robotics, treatment of pelvic floor pain issues, sexual dysfunction, recurrent UTIs, complex urodynamics, and InterStim.
• Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with urological conditions, including medical management and surgical interventions.
• Perform surgical procedures, including but not limited to prostatectomy, nephrectomy, and bladder reconstruction.
• Perform endoscopic procedures, such as cystoscopy and ureteroscopy, to diagnose and treat urinary tract conditions.
• The Urologist interprets procedure findings and provides timely reports to patients and referring physicians.
• Educate patients and their families about urological conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
• Offer guidance on preventive measures and health maintenance.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including oncologists, radiologists, and nephrologists, to optimize patient care.
• Consult on complex cases and provide expert opinions.

Urologist - REQUIREMENTS

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
• Must have board certification through the American Board of Urology.
• Must be Robotics Trained.
• Must have a full, current, and unrestricted license in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
• Must be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or its equivalent.
