Urgent Care Physician - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

  • The Urgent Care Physician diagnose and treat patients with various medical conditions like minor injuries, infections, and respiratory illnesses.
  • Conduct thorough medical assessments, which include asking about medical history, conducting physical exams, and ordering tests when needed.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments based on guidelines and what the patient needs.
  • Perform procedures like taking care of wounds, stitching, applying splints, and doing minor surgeries when necessary.
  • Provide caring and evidence-based treatment to all patients to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for.
  • The Urgent Care Physician teaches patients and their families about their health problems, treatments, how to prevent issues, and how to take care of themselves.
  • Explain clearly how to take medications, what to do after treatment, and how to manage symptoms.
  • Be ready to handle emergencies in the urgent care center, such as heart attacks or severe allergic reactions, following the right steps.
  • The Urgent Care Physician performs minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, epistaxis management, etc.


Urgent Care Physician – REQUIREMENTS

  • Should be a graduate from an accredited School of Medicine with an MD degree.
  • Shall be board certified in either Family Practice Medicine or Internal Medicine.
  • Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
  • Hold current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required by the specialty.
