Interventional Radiologist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

  • The Interventional Radiologist conducts minimally invasive procedures using radiologic imaging to diagnose and treat conditions like vascular diseases, cancer, and organ abnormalities.
  • Perform treatments such as angioplasty, stent placement, embolization, tumor ablation, and biopsies.
  • Administer catheter-based treatments for vascular and non-vascular diseases.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on patient needs and imaging findings.
  • The Interventional Radiologist provides post-procedure care and follow-up evaluations to ensure successful treatment outcomes.
  • Work closely with referring physicians and specialists (e.g., oncologists, surgeons) to integrate interventional radiology into comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Ensure that post-procedure orders are posted, and a warm handoff is made in case requiring post-procedure care.
  • Provide consultation and instruction to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for Interventional radiologic procedures.
  • The Interventional Radiologist provides a review of all requested exams.

Interventional Radiologist - REQUIREMENTS

  • A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Must have board certification/eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or equivalent.
  • Shall possess a current, valid, unrestricted license in any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in performing interventional radiology procedures.
  • Must have a current ACLS/BLS certificate.
