Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Physician

Our client in Southwest Virginia is currently searching for locums Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Physician to work in a Federally designated Black Lung Clinic.

Requirements:

• M.D. degree
• Must be Board Certified
• Fellowship required
• Competency in performing thorough review of medical and work history will be required
• Competency in interpreting EKG and PFT data required
• Competency in placement of arterial lines required
• Hospital/Surgery Center privileges required
• Experience in working in a Federally designated Black Lung Clinic preferred
• Physicians within driving distance are preferred

Practice Details:

• Practice Setting: Outpatient
• Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Only
• Coverage Dates:
  • January 23-28
  • January 30 - Feb 4
  • February 20-25
  • February 27 - March 4
  • March 6-11
• Hours/Shifts: Monday – Saturday, 8am – 6pm
• No rounding in the hospital will be necessary
• Physician will average five patients per day
• Patients will be evaluated on bikes and treadmills
• For physicians not experienced in Dept. of Labor testing, four-day orientation required before seeing new to seeing black lung patients
