Pulmonologist - Position, Des Moines, Iowa
1. Candidate requirements:
Licensure from any state is honored.
Must be board certified or board eligible in Pulmonary/Critical Care
Definition of board eligibility as per the ABIM guidelines indicate someone who has completed their fellowship/residency program within the last 7 years

Must have ACLS/BLS certification
2. Clinical Information
The VA estimates the 40-hour work week will be divided in the following manner:
24 hours clinical work
12 hours of procedures
4 hours of administrative/meetings and educational training work
Critical care services entail but are not limited to:
Diagnosis
Monitoring
Treatment of patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries that required advanced organ support and continuous monitoring
After-hour coverage is required, however, 99% of all after-hour coverage will be done telephonically.

Critical care responsibilities include diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of patients with serious illnesses requiring advanced organ support and continuous monitoring.
4. Expected Caseload

10 patients per clinic day
