We are potentially hiring for a qualified civilian Physician-Pulmonology (Intensivist) to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our veterans and their families at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii.

• Schedule: hours will vary, after-hours, weekends, and holidays for pulmonary and/or ICU on-call and ICU in-house services

The Physician-Pulmonology (Intensivist) must have the following qualifications:
• Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)
• Education: Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada, this degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) at the time the degree was obtained (e.g. Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination
• Certifications: In addition to Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or other advanced certification does not supersede the BLS requirement; the healthcare provider(s) must be currently trained and maintain course documentation for Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Red Cross or an equivalent program
• Board Certification: Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with Subspecialty Certifications in Critical Care Medicine and Pulmonary Disease
• Licensure/Registration: Shall possess a current valid, full and unrestricted medical license in one of the 50 states of the United States, and/or the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands
• If the physician is a foreign medical graduate, s/he shall possess a valid certificate from the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) or shall have completed a Fifth Pathway Program
• Experience: Six (6) month work experience within the past 12 months prior to the commencement of services under this contract providing services as a critical care physician and as a Pulmonologist
