New England Geriatrics is seeking psychiatrists for inpatient, and outpatient care. Part or full time options available. Specializing in adult and geriatric psych, we are located throughout Massachusetts in 4 inpatient hospital units, contracted in 125 nursing home and assisted living facilities, and operate an outpatient family mental health clinic in the Greater Springfield area. Responsibilities Include: Work as the hospital unit medical director (if applicable) •Assess current medical or psychiatric status. •Review all current regular and prn medications, labs, x-rays and any other pertinent data. •Monitor psychiatric medications for effectiveness, response of resident, usage of prns and side effects. •Recommend nursing and, when appropriate, behavioral interventions to nursing home staff. Develop behavior plans as needed. •Being a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team including a mid-level and social worker •Collaborate with nursing staff if a significant change in status occurs.
