The psychiatrist will provide outpatient care in the Mental Health Clinic to veterans with a variety of diagnoses. He/she will also work with a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide care to veterans participating in residential programs in the 100 bed Domiciliary. There will also be some consultation/liaison work with the adjacent hospital/nursing home/primary care clinic. On-call coverage for the entire VA Black Hills Health Care System is shared with full-time psychiatrists (6 others) and is generally by phone consultation with the ER/Urgent Care. Weekend rounds on the 10-bed inpatient psychiatric unit are included in the on-call rotation. These rounds may be done via telepsychiatry depending on where the psychiatrist chooses to live.
