Great opportunity for Psychiatrist with passion for Geriatrics. This is a non-profit organization in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC. Even though it is a non-profit employer, it pays its physicians private practice compensation rates. The need is URGENT. This facility is a 250 bed Nursing Home-Rehabilitation Center that runs at 93 to 98% capacity. It is the ONLY rehab center in Maryland that combines Ventilator and Dialysis. Thus, the patients get a very uncompromising high level of care. As a side activity, this facility runs a free health clinic as part of its nonprofit status. Only about 6-12 patients per day are seen in the free clinic.

The role of the Psychiatrist in this facility is to provide ongoing counseling to ventilator dependent patients and their families surrounding end of life issues or coping strategies for early age physical loss. In addition to the vent dependent patients, the candidate would also serve, as needed, the other 200 non-vent dependent patients as requested by the Director of Social Work.
