school-based clinics in partnership with Montgomery Public Schools
HSI is looking for a Psychiatrist to join our team. Our Psychiatrist evaluates,
diagnoses and treats patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans,
prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.
This position typically works a standard schedule of 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday
through Friday, however, schedule adjustments may be necessary based on need.
Job Duties:
1. Performs the professional services of a Licensed Psychiatrist.
2. Evaluate, consult and perform psychological assessment and testing of
adults, adolescents and children.
3. Conduct initial patient evaluations and take detailed medical history.
4. Diagnose teens and children based on symptoms and prior medical treatment.
5. Explain treatment plans to patients and their parents or guardians and
provide familial support throughout treatment program.
6. Advocate for patients, especially with regard to schools and other
organizations.
7. Prescribe medication on a conservative basis to treat verifiable mental
health diseases and conditions.
8. Maintain patient records and documentation.
9. Assist in developing policies, procedures and programs for the delivery of
outpatient psychiatric care.
10. Establish clinical standards for psychiatric care in cooperation with the
CMO.
Education and Experience:
1. Must have a Medical Degree from an accredited institution.
2. Currently licensed in the State of Alabama.
3. Completed one year of internship and have at least one year of experience in
psychiatric care.
