Position Summary
This position evaluates and treats children, adolescents, and adults in an outpatient setting. 80% of the time is dedicated to the treatment of patients and 20% is dedicated to administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
- Provide evaluation, diagnostic and therapeutic services for the community mental health center.
- Supervise ancillary medical services.
- Confer with the patient and/or patient’s family or representative regarding illness and treatment.
- Consult with medical specialists, psychologists, mental health professionals, social workers, and others in community agencies regarding aspects of patient care.
- Assist with the development and implementation of medical and related protocols, programs, and/or policies.
- Provide supervision and/or peer review and ongoing education to other professional staff members as requested by the Executive Vice Present and CEO.
- Suggest and/or participate in training or other related educational and informational forums to address health conditions.
- Oversees the work of any students or residents assigned for training.
- Participate in initial and annual orientation and training as required.
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Board Certification American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- MD/DO with a minimum of 3 years of related clinical experience and 1-year of supervisory experience.
- Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship trained
- Ability to verbally communicate with patients and staff, and document communications effectively.
- Demonstrated competence as evidenced by no disciplinary or performance problems.
- Knowledgeable of current medications and side effects.
- Shall demonstrate competence in gathering and interpreting information about mental health and substance abuse disorders.
