INTEGRATIVE PSYCHIATRY IN PEDIATRICIANS OFFICES

There are multiple openings available for C&A psychiatrists to join this vibrant and growing psychiatry department that brings state of the art psychiatric care, educational programs and research to improve the lives of children and adolescents with mental illness in Jacksonville and surrounding areas.

 

This is a unique position for an individual interested in changing the paradigm of how psychiatric and mental health care is provided to marginalized and vulnerable children.  The position will join and help lead an interdisciplinary group of medical, social service and other professionals and community stakeholders respond to the critical needs of children and youth as part of a SAMHSA funded system of care initiative. 

If have an interest in true collaborative/integrative care, would like to work with 100% child and adolescent population, and enjoy the challenge of implementing and developing new and effective programs that can improve outcomes and make a difference in the lives of children and their families then this is an ideal opportunity for you.

  • Participate in the expansion of a new endowed Center for Collaborative Care—an initiative focused on training pediatricians to diagnose and manage mental health conditions in children and youth, and collaborate in their care.

  • Help develop and support the implementation of a new and innovative medical home practice serving children and youth with complex mental health conditions.  As the first of its kind in the US, it will expand the specialized models of care for children with complex medical conditions to those with complex mental health conditions.

  • Work with community-based mental health providers caring for marginalized children, e.g., children in the foster care system, in and/or transitioning from the juvenile justice system, LGBTQ youth, etc.

  • Participate in community initiatives, program development, generation of grants.

  • Develop an academic presence and disseminate new knowledge resulting from this work.
