Single-Specialty Group Hospitalist: Internal Medicine Job in McAllen, Texas
This Internal Medicine hospitalist position in McAllen, Texas is offered as a Single-Specialty Group arrangement. In this model, you join an established practice of physicians within your own specialty, where clinical infrastructure, staffing, billing, and administration are already in place. Call is typically shared across the group's physicians, and the setting offers peer collaboration within your specialty along with shared business overhead.
This role is structured as an Employment Agreement with production bonus, with the financial offering listed at the National Average tier. There is no patient call and no emergency department call associated with this position. McAllen is a community in the 100,000–499,999 population range.
The role is open to physicians who are Board Certified or Board Eligible, trained through Allopathic (MD) or Osteopathic (DO) pathways, and who completed medical school as an American Medical Graduate or Foreign Medical Graduate. Hospitalist Group is looking for a Medical Director. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with recruitment and interviewing of all program staff, developing and maintaining positive rapport with hospital administration and board members, participation in the hospital's performance improvement activities, and regular meetings with hospital administration and directors of ancillary departments that support the work of the Hospital Medicine program. Qualifications include Board Certification in Internal Medicine, excellent communication skills, hospital medicine leadership experience, and the ability to spend sufficient time at the hospital outside of clinical hours to fulfill administrative duties.
Ideal candidates will be BC/BE in Internal Medicine. Compensation is competitive and includes full employed benefits package; sign-on bonus and relocation.
