Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced Hospitalist Physicians to join the locum tenens roster for a highly reputable VA Medical Center in Altoona, PA.

Opportunity Specifics:

  • Provide outstanding care in our well-equipped Acute Care Hospital, treating patients, making appropriate referrals, coordinating transfers to outside facilities, and ensuring smooth admissions if necessary
  • Perform comprehensive History and Physical assessments, coordinating care with other services, and ensuring proper disposition and discharge of patients.
  • Team-driven collaboration with other services, and ensuring appropriate disposition and discharge of patients.
  • Efficiently document all patient interactions, including H&Ps, Discharge Summaries, notes, encounters, and transfers, in accordance with medical staff guidelines and timelines.
  • Meet all VA administrative, clinical, and quality requirements promptly, maintaining our commitment to excellence in patient care.
  • Embrace the opportunity to teach and mentor medical students, physician assistant students, nurse practitioner students, and medical residents, contributing to the growth of the next generation of healthcare professionals.
  • Engage in collaborative discussions with colleagues and specialists, review patient data and medical literature, and communicate effectively with patients and their families to address concerns and needs.
  • Be an integral part of medical staff decisions, shaping the philosophy, objectives, policies, and standards that drive optimal patient care.
  • Thrive in managing complex diagnostic challenges and clinical management issues, showcasing your exceptional skills and expertise.
  • Procedural expertise may be required - intubation experience highly preferreed 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Active State License and Unrestricted DEA
  • Recent/Ongoing Hospitalist Experience
  • Board Certified American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
