Single-Specialty Group Hospice/Palliative Care Job in Jacksonville, Florida
This Hospice/Palliative Care position in Jacksonville, Florida is offered, among other arrangements, as a single-specialty group opportunity. In this structure, you join an established practice of physicians within your own specialty, where clinical infrastructure, staffing, billing, and administration are already in place. Call is typically shared across the group's physicians, and the setting offers peer collaboration within your specialty along with shared business overhead, reducing the individual administrative burden compared to solo practice.
For this role, patient call follows a 1:6 or better rotation, and there is no emergency department call. The financial structure may include an income guarantee, straight employment, an employment agreement with production bonus, or a contract, with the financial offering listed as Open.
Candidates should be board certified, with allopathic (MD) or osteopathic (DO) training accepted, and both American and foreign medical graduates considered. Responsibilities of Hospice and Palliative Care Physician
· Provide medical direction and supervision of patient care
· Provide instruction and medical support to Hospice staff
· Develop and implement education and consultation services to medical communities, professionals, and physicians the service areas.
· Responsible for the development and medical validation of the patient’s eligibility and plan of care in coordination with the patient’s attending physician
· Reviews appropriate clinical material of referring physicians to document basic disease process, prescribed medicines, assessment of patient’s health at the time of entry to validate prognosis and appropriateness in meeting our facilities admission and treatment criteria.
Requirements of Hospice and Palliative Care Physician
· Doctor of medicine or osteopathy required.
· Florida Medical License or in process
· Board Certified Required; will consider Board Eligible in the process of taking the exam
· Hospice and Palliative Care certification, required
· Team oriented and multidisciplinary approach
