Job Title: Physician – Family Practice Location: Austin, TX. Duration: Full Time Salary: Competitive Job Description: Under broad general direction from the Medical Director, provides professional medical services including the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of diseases, disorders and injuries in specialty area of Family Medicine. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Medical Director/Lead Physician Directs: May supervise mid-level providers, residents and/or other clinic staff JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES Performs physical assessment of patient using observation, inspection, auscultation, palpation and percussion and orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient¡¦s condition. Diagnoses and treats diseases, disorders and injuries based on patients' medical history and results of physical assessment and refer patients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment. Prescribes medications and therapies for treatment and preventive care. Instructs patients and their families regarding procedures performed, home care, and follow-up visits. Directs professional and ancillary health care staff during treatment of patients. Responds to inquiries from staff and patients regarding preventive health and treatments. Compiles patient medical data including health history, treatment plans, results of physical examination, etc. and records in electronic medical record. Reports required information including deaths and outbreak of contagious diseases to governmental authorities. Plans, promotes, demonstrates, recommends and coordinates high standards of medical practice. Other related duties may be assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES *Knowledge of the principles and practices of preventive medicine *Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to medicine and federally qualified community health centers *Skill in communicating information and ideas in speaking so others will understand *Skill in actively looking for ways to help people and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships Ability to: *Provide medical services as assigned within the scope of this role Physical Abilities: While performing the duties of this job, the employee constantly is required to: Grasp, handle, feel, lift up to 10 lbs., listen, see, sit, talk The employee frequently is required to: Reach, stand, walk The employee occasionally is required to: Pull, push, stoop MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Graduation from a college or university accredited by the American Medical Association with a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree Required CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/Certificates of Completion Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas and Board eligible (with the intent to become certified) or Board Certification in Family Medicine plus current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registrations for the purpose of writing prescriptions and current Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare providers WORKING ENVIRONMENT The person performing this job will be exposed to: Confined work space, airborne pathogens, noise, keeping others safe Candidate Details: 1+ to 2 years experience Minimum Education - Professional Degree
