Permanent Neurology Jobs in Davie, Florida

An international research institute that combines computational modeling, laboratory and clinical research is seeking a Board Certified Neurologist to serve as a Principal Investigator in clinical trials involving Parkinson's Disease and other Neuro-Inflammatory Disorders. This is an 100% research based position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead clinical research efforts as the Primary Investigator of phase 1, 2 and 3, clinical trials.

  • Ensure that a clinical investigation is conducted according to the signed investigator statement for clinical investigations of drugs, including biological products, or agreement for clinical investigations of medical devices, the investigational plan, and applicable regulations

  • Protect the rights, safety, and welfare of subjects under the investigator’s care

  • Screenings, evaluations, medical histories and assessment of inclusion/exclusion criteria

  • Physical examinations

  • Evaluation of adverse events

  • Assessments of primary study endpoints

  • Obtain informed consent

  • Establish practice standards, and with others, oversees quality of interdisciplinary clinical care, including appropriate development and implementation of clinical protocols, performance standards and policies across the system of care.

  • Oversees/is responsible for clinical quality, appropriateness and effectiveness of therapeutic plan involving all team members, patient safety, outcomes and patient satisfaction; ensures an effective, safe care environment.

  • Coordinate the collection and analysis of research data; instruct and coordinate research subjects and volunteers.

  • Analyze and audit data; prepare reports; complete enrollment for clinical trial preparedness study.

  • Comply with regulatory documentation for the institutional Review Board (IRB) in maintaining protocols, approvals, amendments, modifications, etc.).

  • Work with staff to gather and prepare material for publication and illustration; develop manuscripts and poster presentations.

  • Attend conferences and research seminars; read literature to remain current in recording techniques, infection control and diagnostic information.

  • Maintain current knowledge of protocol and pharmacological studies in development.

  • Organize and facilitate meetings, conferences and other events; perform outreach activities.

  • Participates in Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders program planning and marketing activities; develops and maintains contact with referral sources, managed-care organizations and other key contacts including department of Neurology, Section of Movement Disorders within Northwestern Medicine.

  • Shares responsibility with designated operations leader for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating success, using metrics and key performance indicators (e.g., safety, outcome, operating, regulatory and financial)

  • Maintains strong relationships with academic institutions and professional organizations; fosters an energetic teaching/learning environment within Section of Movement Disorder

  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Board certification in neurology.

  • Completion of a 2 year Movement Disorders fellowship program.

  • Excellent bedside manner, capable of developing strong and emphatic relationships with the patient and their families.

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the state of Florida.

  • Experience with management of movement disorders patients in a multidisciplinary setting.

  • At least 2 years of clinical research experience is preferred.
