Permanent Hospitalist: Family Medicine Job in California
- Employed position (W-2)
- 465-bed Level II Trauma Center
- Base pay: $1470 per night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Facilitate overnight admissions and answer calls/pages from units
- Average of 12-16 total admits per night (split between 2 physicians)
- $100 bonus for every admission over 6/night
- Annual bonuses range from $15000-$25000 per physician
- Average of 16 night shifts/month = $282240 base pay + $39200 is estimated annual bonus/admit bonuses = approximately $321440 annual income
- Additional $20000 sign-on bonus
- Employer contributes additional 7% of annual income toward pension plan (regardless of employee contribution)
- $20000 relocation package CME allowance full benefits and malpractice coverage
- Shifts scheduled in 5-8 day blocks
- 2 physicians on staff during night shift
- 11 physicians on staff during day shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
