I. Practice Overview 

A. Five physicians in the practice now: 

1. M.D. – child and adolescents 

2. D.O. - adults 

3. M.D. – adolescents starting around age 15, adults and geriatrics 

4. M.D. – adults and geriatrics 

5. M.D. – adults and geriatrics 

B. Dr. Adult Psychiatrist, to start in July 2014 

C. Need exists due to the increased demand for child and adolescent services. 


II. Practice Organization 

A. Employed position with hospital 

B. Member of Community Health Network (approximately 82 providers in different specialties) 


III. Practice Set-up 

A. Type of Practice 

1. Inpatient / Outpatient 

2. 1:6 Call 

a. Every 6th weekend 

b. Take own call during the week 

c. Unassigned patient call – once per week – mental health tech will get disposition – no need to come to the hospital 

3. Typical Day 

a. 15 - 20 patients per day once “up-to-speed” 

b. Office hours: 9-12 and 1-5 (sometimes later to accommodate after school and after work hours) with rounding as you choose 

c. Practice location on hospital campus 

d. Approximately 3 inpatients at any one time 

e. Some flexible scheduling allowed

C. Services 

1. Inpatient Programs 

a. Child, ages 5-12 

b. Adolescent, ages 13-18 

c. Program for female teens 

d. Program for male teens 

e. Adults 

f. Seniors 

2. Outpatient Programs 

a. Children’s Transitional Day 

b. Adolescent Partial Hospitalization 

c. Hospital School Liaison Program 

d. Adult Dual Diagnosis Program 

e. Individualized Intensive Outpatient Program 

f. Individual and Family Counseling Services 

3. Resolve Center Alcohol and Substance Abuse Programs 

D. Payor Mix / Demographics 

1. Private insurance – Blue Cross, Humana, Magellan, Value Options, Cigna, Aetna, etc. 

2. Accept Medicare and Medicaid 

3. DASA contract for Resolve services 

4. Bi-polar issues, family dysfunction, autism, ADD and ADHD 

E. Growth Opportunities

IV. Compensation Highlights 

A. Base salary – based on years of experience and MGMA Compensation Guidelines 

B. Incentive bonus based on wRVUs 

C. Commencement bonus 

D. Loan repayment 

E. PTO – 27 days the first year and 32 days thereafter 

F. Relocation up to $7500 

G. CME
