Permanent Hospitalist: Internal Medicine Job in Fort Morgan, Colorado

■ Internal Medicine / Hospitalist – Would be hospital employed and part of Colorado Plains Physician Practices, a hospital owned group. Work in a beautiful remodeled office located in the facilities Medical Office Building which is attached to the hospital. This is a combined hospitalist and outpatient medicine position including skilled nursing patients. When serving as a hospitalist, candidate is on call for 24 hours during their shift. Candidate will have three weeks with no call and then a week of being on call. On your call week you will do inpatient medicine only while serving as the hospitalist. Candidate typically would start Friday morning at 8:00 am and go to the next Friday morning at 8:00 am. ICU experience and coverage required. See 20-24 patients a day when in clinic doing outpatient the other three weeks. We have an open ICU with 6 beds averaging 1 patient a day. The hospital has around 2000 OP visits/month, an average daily census of 12 patients and average 5 admits/day. The load at night is not usually very high. The doc might get called from the ED but they don’t have to come in very often even if the patient needs to be admitted because they have 12 hours to see the patient after the admissions orders are given. Typically a physician will have to come back to the hospital 2-3 times during a week. The candidate would need to be comfortable with vents and ICU patient management. If they don’t do central lines we can have one of our general surgeons do those. EMR being used. Salary around $200K, and negotiable signing bonus + relocation, + all benefits. B/E, B/C, MD, DO. FMG’s ok as are J-1 visa candidates. Residents, fellows, or practicing FP or IM candidates are acceptable. Position is available to start October 2015. This is a perm position only, no Locums.
