Permanent Psychiatry: Child & Adolescent Job in Fairbanks, Alaska

MD/DO - Psychiatrist - Child / Adolescent REQUIREMENTS (duties include but not limited to) Administer programs of treatment to mentally and emotionally disturbed individual adjustments to life; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries. Assist in treating rehabilitation patients. Treat individuals in times of personal crisis such as a divorce or death of a loved one. Provide therapeutic treatment and evaluation of patients in the Family Advocacy Program dealing with domestic violence, physical, and/or sexual abuse. Work closely with clinical staff and/or base personnel regarding patient awareness of mental health wellness programs (addictions, stress management, group therapies). Provide patient consultations requested by the staff health care providers within guidelines established by the hospital. Deliver records and reports required to document procedures performed and care provided utilizing standards set forth by the hospital and regulations. Other duties may be assigned pertaining to the HCPs position. QUALIFICATIONS Shall have completed an accredited medical degree program acceptable to DA. Shall have a current unrestricted license to practice Adult and/or Child Psychiatry in the State of Alaska, and be able to obtain clinical privileges at Bassett Army Community Hospital and Fairbanks Memorial Hospital through approval of the Credentials Committee. Must have or obtain a current, valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number prior to performing the contract services. Any change to the DEA requirements to obtain a valid DEA registration number is applicable when the incumbent's existing DEA registration expires. Shall be a graduate of a nationally accredited internship/residency program in clinical Psychiatry. Shall have completed an approved internship/residency program in clinical Psychiatry. Shall have had outpatient psychiatry experiences within the last five years in a practice. Have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. The American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers is the only program accepted. BLS recertification shall be maintained in a current status at all times while the HCP is performing services under this contract.
