Permanent Emergency Medicine Job in Denver, Colorado
MD/DO - Emergency Medicine Physician
DUTIES (include but not limited to)
Emergency
Medicine Physician is required to perform all duties associated with being a
staff Physician including:
- Patient
examinations (new follow-up and consultative).
- Obtain
patient consent prior to procedure via iMED Consent.
- Receive
calls from other providers regarding their patients.
- Procedures
will be within the Physician’s approved privileges.
- Provide
emergent care for immediate health problems.
- Exams
appropriate and specific for Emergency Medicine services for outpatient,
inpatient, and Community Living Center (CLC) resident examinations.
- Screening
patients to determine their need for further care.
- Following
Postoperative patients after discharge, determining need for further follow-up
care and arranging for care.
- Ordering
of routine laboratory, radiologic, and other diagnostic tests.
- Initiating
and expediting request for consultation and scheduling special tests and
studies.
- Documentation
in medical record, changing orders when appropriate.
- Write
prescriptions. Physician will use the ECHCS Formulary, and Formulary shall be
provided to the successful candidate.
- Perform
procedures within the ECHCS’s level of complexity.
- Progress
notes and an outpatient encounter will be completed the same day of the
patient’s visit.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be Board
Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency
Medicine (ABEM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine
(AOBEM).
- Must have and maintain
a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth
of the United States or the District of Columbia.
- Must have and maintain
current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) as certified by the American
Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent.
