Permanent Endocrinology/Metabolism Opportunity in Colorado Springs, Colorado

QUALIFICATIONS • Possess and maintain a current unrestricted license to practice as a Endocrinologist in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. • Board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI) and successfully complete a two-year endocrinology residency, or successfully complete the requisite graduate medical education fellowship training accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education to become board certified in the subspecialty of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. • Possess and maintain CPR, BCLS, and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association. • Have a minimum of five years of experience within the last six years in outpatient medicine and consultative medicine in a clinic setting, and shall have at least one year’s experience hospital staff. • Must possess current/unrestricted DEA. • Possess a Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited college approved by the Council in Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association. Graduates of foreign medical schools are required to possess both a medical license and other certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) or 5th Pathway. TYPE OF WORK The duties include but are not limited to the following: • Independently evaluates, diagnoses, and treats adult patients (18 years of age and older) in the area of endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism on an outpatient consultative basis. • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (thyroid fine needle aspiration), if qualified, and interpret diagnostic test results. • Interpret dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scan reports, continuous glucose monitoring, insulin pump printouts, and dynamic endocrine testing for patients referred to the clinic for this service. • Prescribe treatment for endocrine and metabolic disorders to meet the needs of patients. • Perform outpatient procedure to include thyroid nodule biopsy.
