Permanent Pediatrics: Hematology/Oncology Job in New Jersey
As a state-designated acute care children’s hospital The Children’s Hospital offers a full-range of pediatric specialized healthcare services for newborns and children through young adulthood.
The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program at The Children's Hospital provides diagnosis and treatment for infants children and adolescents with cancer and disorders of the blood including sickle cell anemia thalassemia and bleeding disorders.
- The pediatric hematology-oncology division is currently staffed with two pediatric oncologists. There are 3 full time RN’s in the practice 1 NP and some clerical and technical staff.
- Call is equally shared between the three physicians.
- Physician have both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities and they have an active outreach program with offices in Edison Hoboken and Freehold.
- The Children’s Hospital is a full member of the national Children’s Oncology Group. Program is a clinical test site for the NCI's Children's Oncology Group clinical trials. This gives them access to the latest in research data and information on treatments of childhood cancers from specialists throughout the country.
- They are the only children’s hospital in central New Jersey selected to partner with Pro Cure Proton Therapy Center– the only proton center in the New York area to provide an advanced form of radiation called proton therapy for children with tumors in areas such as the eye brain and thyroid.
- The program remains at the forefront of treatment and research in cancer and blood disorders in children while providing follow-up care for survivors up to the age of 30.
