Locum Tenens OBGYN: General Opportunity in Fort Campbell, Kentucky

Obstetrician - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to:

  • Provider will perform triage and care of laboring patients; perform C-section/operative deliveries, assist CNM with management of patients; care for postpartum patients;
  •  Cover the ER for any OB/GYN-related issues. This may result in admission to the hospital for possible surgical/medical management.
  • Provider shall be required to perform their assigned duties with regard to all outpatients and inpatients and eligible beneficiaries, regardless of underlying disease process or physical condition of such patients or beneficiaries.
  • The contract Provider shall be expected to conduct a minimum of 2.75 patient office visits per hour during scheduled clinic workdays.
  • Provider will perform as primary and/or assist with emergent surgical cases and assist with scheduled cases as needed.
  • The delivery rate range is 100 to 150 plus per month.
  • Clinic and surgical schedules will be established by the Chief, OB/GYN Clinic, with cases distributed equitably among the staff physicians.
  • Shall diagnose and treat the full range of obstetrical cases, procedures, and surgeries, and provide advice and opinions upon request by the Chief, OB/GYN or the referring physician in support of OB/GYN examinations, procedures, and surgeries as provided in conjunction with patient care and treatment. 
  • Shall prepare all records and reports as required in support of services rendered.
  • Shall record treatment data in the patient's outpatient and inpatient records.
  • Shall facilitate patient access to medical care by recommending appropriate referrals to other health care providers.
  • Roughly 17 patients per day (covered by 2 providers)
  • Perform Full-scope OB, minus GYN.  The clinic has in-house Midwife, Pediatricians, and Anesthesiology available.  The patient population is primarily young and healthy.

Obstetrician - REQUIREMENTS

  • Education:  Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)
  • Internship/Fellowship: Must have completed a successful  OB GYN internship and residency program.
  • Experience: Required 1 year of experience in the last 2 years working in OR and Labor/Delivery 
  • Board Certification: Must be currently Board-certified in OB GYN
  • Certifications:
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
  • License: Current physician license from any US state
