Diagnostic & Interventional Radiologist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
- The Diagnostic & Interventional Radiologist Interprets a wide range of imaging studies, including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and angiograms, to identify abnormalities and diagnose diseases.
- Communicate diagnostic findings clearly to referring physicians and patients through detailed reports.
- Discuss potential treatment options and contribute to developing treatment plans based on imaging results.
- The Diagnostic & Interventional Radiologist performs minimally invasive, image-guided interventional procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, embolization, biopsies, drainage of abscesses, and foreign body removal, typically using fluoroscopy guidance.
- Manage patient care during these procedures, including the monitoring of vital signs and ensuring overall patient safety.
- Work closely with other specialists to devise comprehensive treatment plans and provide consultation regarding interventional radiology procedures.
- The Diagnostic & Interventional Radiologist provides discharge education to patients and ensure follow-up instructions are aligned with the next care setting, especially for emergency department patients.
Diagnostic & Interventional Radiologist - REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Must be Board Certified in Radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in diagnostic and interventional radiology.
- Must have current DEA, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
- Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
