Radiation Oncology Physician - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

  • The Radiation Oncology Physician develops and implements comprehensive radiation treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary oncology team.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with cancer using radiation therapy techniques.
  • Perform and oversee the administration of radiation therapy, ensuring accurate and safe delivery.
  • Provide compassionate patient-centered care, including counseling patients and families on treatment options, risks, and expected outcomes.
  • Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and coordinate patient care.
  • The Radiation Oncology Physician ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to radiation therapy.
  • Participate in clinical trials and research initiatives to advance the field of radiation oncology.
  • Educate and train medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals on radiation oncology practices.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of care in radiation therapy.
  • The Radiation Oncology Physician monitors and manages patients throughout the treatment process, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on patient response and side effects.

Radiation Oncology Physician - REQUIREMENTS

  • Shall have MD/DO, or graduated radiation oncology residency.
  • Must be board-certified physicians in radiation oncology from the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
  • Must have current license to practice medicine in any state, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • Shall have five (5) years of clinical experience in radiation oncology excluding residency.
  • Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification certified by the American Heart Association (AHA).
