Locum Tenens Hematology/Oncology Job in Minot, North Dakota

JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Physician – Hematology/Oncology
• Job Type: Locum Tenens (with option for locums-to-perm)

• Service Setting: Clinic - Cancer Center
• Coverage Type: Clinical + Call
• Coverage Period: February 10, 2025 – Minimum 6 months
• Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; 3 weeks per month
• On-Call Shift Schedule: Night and weekend call rotation
• Call Type: Phone and occasional on-site
• Call Ratio: Rotational
• Callback Rate: Up to 4 hours gratis for weekend call

PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Adults and Geriatrics (18+)
• Patient Volume/Census:
      - 10-15 new consults per week
      - 30-35 patients in infusion center daily (50% receiving chemotherapy)
      - 18-bay infusion center, including private rooms
• Phone Consults: Yes, part of on-call duties
• Case Mix: Diverse cancer types; expertise with chemotherapy, biologic therapy, hormone therapy required

FACILITY INFORMATION
• No. of Beds in Department: Clinic – 10 exam rooms; Hospital – 318 beds
• Trauma Level: Level II Preferred
• EMR System: Cerner with Aria platform (integrated oncology information system)
• Specialty Backup Available: Nurses, NPs, Therapists, Support Groups, Imaging Center adjacent to Cancer Center
• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Temporary Privileges Available: No
• Credentialing Timeline: 60 days (licensed); 90 days (unlicensed)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Rate: TBD
• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered (airfare, lodging, hotel, rental car or mileage)

• Chemotherapy administration
• Biologic therapy
• Hormone therapy

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: North Dakota license or IMLC (preferred)
• Board Certification: Board Certified in Medical Oncology
• Certifications: BLS, DEA
• Experience: Minimum 2 years; preferred candidates with less than 15 years of experience
• Other Qualifications: Proficiency with Cerner and diverse oncology case management

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide oncology services, including chemotherapy, biologic, and hormone therapy
• Manage diverse oncology cases in a robust cancer center setting
