Medical Director Geriatric
Leading Regional System Seeks Geriatric Medical Director Southern Oregon
The Geriatric Medical Director will lead Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology Services for the largest regional healthcare system in southern Oregon and northern California. The Medical Director of Geriatrics will provide clinical and administrative leadership to a team of inpatient and outpatient physicians and advance practice providers, as well as a robust support staff that include clinical nurse specialists and other team members. The Medical Director will also be the first holder of a Medical Chair established by donors. This prestigious Medical Chair will provide funds for the use at the discretion of the Chairholder that can be directed for people, technology, facilities and programs that support patient care and research activities. This chair position will be the only one in this region that serves 600K people in a 9 county service area and the service is vital to aging communities. The space at the community hospital will be specially designed and renovated to be aesthetically pleasing for geriatric patients with a focus on decreasing the disorientation and depersonalizing effects of an unfamiliar environment. The Medical Director shall provide leadership to achieve the mission, vision, values, goals and objectives for the program. The Medical Director will be responsible for all aspects of the service line across all divisions, including growth, quality, and service education. The role is designed to be 50% clinical service and 50% leadership.

They will lead efforts to design, build, implement, and collaborate with community partners, hospital services and departments towards achieving a high quality, effective, compassionate regional behavioral health service that provides a scope of services consistent with community needs. Qualifications include: Strong clinical leader with experience in leading geriatric service line, Track record of driving improvements in quality and safety, with progressive leadership experience. Provision of full range of geriatric services to assigned patients. Licensed as a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician in the state of Oregon or able to obtain licensure, and certification in Geriatric Medicine. Board certified and must maintain certification. Must possess good interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
