Medical Director (MD/DO) - Primary Care/Behavioral Health
24-bed hospital in Northern, New York State, the beautiful 1000 Islands region, 30 miles north of Watertown.
Summary: Oversight of the hospitals’ behavioral health and primary care integration effort, informed by SAMSHA’s Bi-Directional Integration Model.
- Clinical support role. Works directly with providers and nurse managers
- Runs day to day operations of the unit and must be willing to participate in patient care
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited AMA/AACOM approved medical school
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine or Psychiatry with verified designated Training
- Recent Primary Care or Behavioral Care is a requirement
- Current or Eligible for a New York State Medical License
Hospitals services offered include - variety of Primary Care services, Inpatient Care, Ambulatory Surgery, Cardiopulmonary, Convenient Care, Emergency Medicine, Infusion, Lab, Physical Therapy and Radiology.
Responsible for:
- Clinical supervision and mentorship of Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers and other health care personnel within the Family Health Center and Community Wellness Programs
- Participate in and support Quality Improvement activities for both programs
- Strong commitment to a vision of whole health and person centered care, using a multidisciplinary team
- Ensure clinical providers are giving appropriate care to patients
- Providers to incorporate evidence based guidelines into daily practice/workflows
- Foster integrated team development
- Outline clear expectations regarding team-based care, roles, responsibilities and workflow
- Reviews and evaluates evidence based practice policies and practice standards
- Interview process for new clinical provides
- Design orientation program for new providers in conjunction with leadership team
